The number of foreign manufacturers in Russian SEZ is on the rise

Auto Business Info.- Eight foreign manufacturers will make new investments with a total value of 17.2 billion rubles, in the industrial zones of Lipetsk, Alabuga and Tolyatti, following the approval of the new applications by the administrations of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ). American General Motors, German Mubea, Turkish Coskunoz and Japanese Sanoh are some of the companies involved in the project.

Turkish automotive supply industry company Coskunoz will invest in Alabuga SEZ, in order to establish a press components and mold production facility. Coskunoz is planning to supply products to Ford Sollers Factory established in Alabuga.

Coskunoz and Ford Sollers had signed a cooperation agreement proposing the procurement of Class-A components such as; press components and unpainted bodywork details. FordSollers executives have confirmed the information that following the shift to CKD production next year, Coskunoz will start supplying Ford Sollers.

GM-AvtoVAZ, on the other hand, is getting ready to invest in Tolyatti SEZ, in order to manufacture press components for the new generation Chevrolet Nivas in the region. The value of the investment planned by the Russian-American partnership is 6.2 billion rubles. The construction of the factory is due to start next Spring.

It is expected the the number of foreign manufacturers in Russian SEZ will continue to rise.
