Sollers will manufacture Mazda engines for Japanese and Chinese markets

Kolesa.ru – Sollers general director: Vadim Shvetsov has announced that the company will manufacture Mazda engines, to be exported to Japanese and Chinese markets. The project will start in Vladivostok in 2015.

Sollers’ current factory in Vladivostok has the capacity to manufacture 77,000 automobiles from seven different models, annually. As stated by Shvetsov, the idea to manufacture engines has come from the Japanese partners of Sollers. The annual production capacity -with CKD method- is planned as 50,000 engines.

As one may remember, an industrial type special economic zone (SEZ) has been established in Vladivostok on 18 August, with the decision of the Russian prime minister: Dmitri Medvedev. The SEZ regime gives the investors the opportunity to benefit from tax and tariff cuts, to obtain subsidies for infrastructure construction and minimum exposure to administrational obstacles. The government has allocated 5.6 billion rubles resource for Vladivostok SEZ.
