St. Petersburg automotive industry has shrunk by 23% in October

RusAutoNews.Com – According to Auto-Dealer-SPb data, St. Petersburg based Toyota, GM, Nissan and Hyundai factories have manufactured 301,000 automobiles within the first ten months of the year (-7%). The October production figure is 28,300, which indicates a year-on-year decline of 23%. This is the lowest ever automotive production figure recorded in the city so far, on a monthly basis. It should be remembered that as in September, General Motors did not operate during the two-thirds of October, either.

Despite the decline in production, the share of St. Petersburg in total automobile production in Russia stood at 21.4% by the end of the January-October period. The ratio was 21% during the first three quarters.

13 different models are being manufactured at four factories established in the city: Chevrolet Cruze, Opel Astra, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Cadillac ATS, Cadillac CTS, Cadillac SRX, NissanTeana, Nissan X-Trail, Nissan Murano, Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Solaris and KIA Rio.
