The decline in commercial vehicle sales continues in Russia

Kommersant. – The decline in truck and LCV sales is gaining momentum in Russia. According to Autostat data, the decline in LCV sales has risen to 43% in April, from 39.8% in March. The sales figure is 7400. The shrinkage rate in January-April period is 38.8%, on the other hand, with 27,000 vehicles. The sales of the market leader GAZ have also fallen in April by 37%, with 3300 vehicles. The January-April sales figure of the brand is 10,800 (-38.8%). The three best selling models in the market are ranked as follows; GAZel GAZ 3302, GAZel Next and UAZ 3909.

The shrinkage in Peugeot (-83.4%) and Volkswagen (-72.3%) LCV sales is remarkable. Mercedes has increased its sales by 11.7% in April, on the other hand: 814 vehicles. The sales of the brand, 2700 vehicles since the turn of the year, have increased by 13.4%, by the end of the four-monthly period.

The truck market has experienced an even sharper shrinkage than the LCV market in April : -58.7%. 3800 trucks have been sold. The sales figure for trucks is 17,100 for the first four months of the year. The shrinkage rate is 45.9%. The traditional leader of the market: KAMAZ has increased its share, despite falling sales. According to company data, 9200 trucks from 14-40 tonnes segment have been sold, which is equivalent to a 62% decline. 5000 of these trucks belong to KAMAZ. The market share of the brand has increased to 54% from 41%, as of the first four months of the year. MAN and Scania have suffered the highest rates of shrinkage with 59.8% (585 vehicles) and 59.1% (864 vehicles) respectively, during the four months period.
