NEMAK inaugurates a new plant in Ulyanovsk


 
RusAutoNewsCom.- Nemak, a leading provider of innovative lightweighting solutions for the global automotive industry announced today the inauguration of its new plant in the Zavolzhye Industrial Zone in Ulyanovsk, Russia.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Nemak’s CEO Armando Tamez and Ulyanovsk’s Governor Sergey Morozov.

The new facility is 35th plant of the supplier. It is equipped with state-of-the-art casting technologies. Initially it will supply cylinder heads and engine blocks to Volkswagen’s engine plant in Kaluga. The plant has an extension of 12,000 m² and an annual capacity of 600,000 equivalent units and required an investment of more than $60 million. Its start of production is scheduled for October 2015.
