Ford Sollers factories will suspend operations for two months

Vedomosti. – Vsevolozhsk plant, where Ford Sollers partnership manufactures Mondeo and Focus, will stop production between 18 November – 15 January. The company has also announced plans to part company with a number of employees. 1500 people are currently employed at the facility, with an annual production capacity of 160,000 automobiles.

Two Tatarstan plants of the company will also remain idle for a while, however there are no staff lay-off plans at the moment. Production will stop at 115,000 annual automobile production capacity Naberezhnye Chelny plant, where EcoSport and Fiesta are manufactured, between 12 November – 10 December and between 12 November – 11 January at 85,000 capacity Elabuga plant, which manufactures Transit, Explorer and Kuga.

Ford Sollers sold 26,546 automobiles in Russia, as of the first nine months of the year (-41%). The market shrinkage has reached 33% by the end of the aforementioned period, according to AEB data.
