The market share of domestic production has increased by eight points in Russia in a year

Autostat – According to Autostat data, 78.6% of the automobiles sold in Russia within the first nine months of the year have been manufactured domestically. The ratio was 70.1% by the end of the same period of last year. Thereby, the market share of domestic production has increased by 8% year-on-year.

The share of domestic production increases in Russia every year. The ratio was 67.3% in 2013, 64.2% in 2012 and 44.3% during the pre-crisis year of 2008. In other words, the share of domestic production has nearly doubled in seven years.

On the other hand, Japan has the top spot according to the origins of the imported automobiles, with a share of 6.5%. Japan is followed by Germany (5.6%), Great Britain (2.2%), Czech Republic (1.5%), S. Korea (1%), USA (0.8%), China (0.6%) and Uzbekistan, Sweden and Turkey (0.5%). Pickups such as: Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200 and Nissan NP300 are being imported from Thailand and South Africa. The import numbers and the shares in total of the two countries are 3391 (0.3%) and 1617 (0.2%), respectively.
