Ural car factory marks the 75-year anniversary

RusAutoNews.Com – Ural car factory marks the 75th year since its establishment. The first automobile of the plant: ZiS-5V, nicknamed Zakhar by the public, had rolled off the production line on 8 July 1944. The factory has manufactured more than 1.5 million trucks in 75 years.

The product range of Ural includes, all-wheel drive 4×4, 6×6 and 8×8 trucks and chassis with load bearing capacities between 4-23 tonnes; shift buses on the basis of all-wheel drive 4×4 and 6×6 Ural automobiles, as well as passenger-and-freight vehicles. The chassis of Ural automobiles are used as a basis in the creation of more than 400 modifications of special vehicles, such as: shift buses, cranes, fuel trucks, tankers, fire trucks, repair workshops etc.
Ural automobile factory became a part of GAZ Group in the beginning of 2000’s. The service and sales network of Ural plant in Russia and CIS countries consists of 30 technical equipment sales centres, 102 certified service centres and 73 spare part sales centres. Approximately 35% of Russian all-wheel drive vehicles segment belongs to Ural plant. The share of exports amount to around  30% of the factory’s production.
