GAZ Group and Rosseti will create an infrastructure for electric transport

RusAutoNews.Com – GAZ Group and Rosseti have signed an agreement on cooperation in the adaptation of modern automotive technology for Russian electric supply network today. 

The companies intend to cooperate in updating the automobile fleet for the country’s electric supply network. Rosseti, the owner of one of the largest commercial vehicle fleets in Russia, has been a long-term partner of GAZ Group. The Russian energy network operator uses more than 11,000 GAZ automobiles. Currently, the business subdivisions of Rosseti need a several thousand new technology vehicles.

The cooperation between the companies also covers the expansion of the range of the diesel-generator units (DGU) based on the engines manufactured in the Yaroslavl Engine Plant of GAZ Group, taking into account the future needs of Rosseti. The DGUs based on YaMZ engines will be used as main, standby or emergency sources of electricity.

The companies have also agreed on the development of new models of highly environmentally friendly vehicles, including hybrid cars and electric vehicles and plan to cooperate in the creation of an infrastructure for electric transport in the regions of the Russian Federation.
