SCANIA will supply GAZ Group with more than 500 chassis

RusAutoNews.Com – Scania-Rus has signed a contract with GAZ Group to supply 541 chassis for the production of LiAZ Voyage buses, intended to operate on the routes of Moscow Region, at the end of September. The buses will be delivered within the scope of the passenger transport renewal programme, commissioned by the Moscow Region Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, as reported by Scania-Rus press office.

“Scania and GAZ Group have been in a joint venture for over ten years. During this time, both companies have gained experience in machinery and component production, allowing us to offer products of highest quality to partners and consumers” – commented the head of the Bus and Engine Sales Department of Scania-Rus.

The fruitful partnership of the companies started in 2004, when GAZ Group began the production of Cruise tourist buses, created on the chassis of Scania. The assembly of Voyage intercity buses started six years later on Scania chassis, followed by the signature of a trilateral agreement on the transport services of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. After a year, the buses manufactured by GAZ Group have passed the tests conducted at the training grounds of Scania in Sweden. Two bus models are being manufactured in the production sites of GAZ Group currently, with the usage of the modular bases of the Swedish company. The company has delivered more than 2200 chassis for LiAZ intercity and tourist buses, as of today.

Voyage buses on Scania chassis are designed for intercity routes up to 500 km.
