Car imports to Russia fell by 7% during January-September period

RusAutoNews.Com – As published by the Vedomosti newspaper, passenger car imports to Russia fell by 7,2% during January-September period of 2017, to 183,4 thousand vehicles, according to Russian Federal Customs House data. The monetary value of automobiles imported to Russia within the aforementioned period amounted to $4,69 billion. 172,8 thousand vehicles have been imported from non-CIS countries (-9,4% y/y)  at the worth of $4,62 billion and 10,6 thousand from CIS countries (+55,9% y/y) for $78 million.

Car exports increased during January-September period of 2017 by 30.3%  to 63,6 thousand units, at a total monetary value of $1,02 billion. 28 thousand of these vehicles were exported to non-CIS countries (+78,3% y/y) for $521,6 million and 35,6 thousand units to CIS countries (+ 7,2% y/y) for $494,9 million.
