The Volgabus-Vladimir electric bus plant has been opened

RusAutoNews.Com – Bakulin Motors Group has opened its new electric bus factory Volgabus-Vladimir in Vladimir region on 21 December, as reported by TASS. The facility will manufacture large-class electric and gas engine buses under the brand name of Volgabus.

“The construction of the first stage only took three years, with a total investment of 3.5 billion rubles” – as told by the general director of Bakulin Motors Group: Alexei Bakulin. 280 jobs have been created thanks to the project at the moment, which is expected to rise to 500 in 2018.

The enterprise has robotic complexes of body welding, laser cutting and metal processing. Robotic painting lines and an automated warehouse complex will be established soon.  More than 30 Russian bus component manufacturers will operate in cooperation in the project.

The specialists in the enterprise are quite confident about the great export potential of the Volgabus vehicles manufactured in Vladimir region and they have already started negotiations with the governments of the Middle Eastern, Africa and East European countries for the supply of electric buses. The electric bus facility plans to manufacture 600 vehicles in 2018.
