Great Wall Motor factory in Russia will start commissioning works in 2018

Autostat – Chinese Great Wall Motor Corporation plans to carry out the initial commissioning works at its car factory in Tula region in September 2018, as stated by the general director of the investor company Zhang Junxue. According to Junxue, the production is planned to be launched in 2019.

“The company will start the installation of technical equipment to the facility under construction, following the completion of the railway network. Currently, the construction of the buildings is being carried out. Painting and welding shops have already been built” – he said.

As reported by the Tula region press office, the Chinese car company Great Wall Motor is implementing an investment project in Uzlovsky district to build a full-cycle automobile factory, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. 2500 jobs are planned to be created. A total amount of $500 million will be invested in the project.

As one may remember, Great Wall Motor began the construction of its own automobile plant, to manufacture Haval vehicles in Tula region, in 2015. The investment project is being conducted by the affiliate company Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus. The plant, built on a total area of 2.16 km2, will include stamping, welding, assembly and paint shops. The 30% initial localisation rate will be pushed up to 50% within 5 years.
