Renault Russia has sent the 20,000th Russian production car body to Algeria

RusAutoNews.Com – As reported by the company press office, Renault Russia has sent the 20,000th Russian-made, welded and painted Renault Logan body to the Renault plant in Algiers (where the automobile is manufactured under the name of Symbol). The capacity of the production line at AVTOVAZ plant has been doubled to 120 bodies daily, on 18 September 2017. The capacity growth has made it possible to significantly improve the preliminary plans, originally made at a level of more than 14,000 units.

The export project for welded and painted Renault Logan bodies to Algeria has started in December 2016. The bodies are manufactured at AVTOVAZ plant in Tolyatti, in compliance with the global quality standards of Renault. The deliveries to the factory in Algiers are carried out in two stages: by railway in Russian territory to the harbour of Novorossiysk, to be transferred to the harbour of Arzev in Algiers by sea. Approximately 1000 bodies were shipped in 2016.

The turnover of Russian components exported by Renault Russia has amounted to €53 million within the first three quarters of 2017, following a 119% year-on-year growth. The growth has been achieved due to the increase in volumes, as well as the expansion in the range of the supplied components and parts to the existing areas.

191 types of components are being exported currently, including stamping parts, plastic parts, brake system and chassis elements and lighting devices. Eurasia and Europe (56%), Latin America (21%) are the main export destinations of Renault Russia, ahead of African and Middle-Eastern countries and India.
