95 car dealers have closed down in Russia within the last three months

Autostat – According to the survey conducted by Autostat, there’s a total number of 3395 official car dealers (excluding service centres) in Russia as of mid-April 2018, carrying out sales and maintenance of cars. In other words, 95 dealers have closed down since January 2018.

The reduction in the number of dealers in Russia within the last 3 months is due to the termination of 205 ongoing dealership contracts. However, 110 new contracts have been signed, on the other hand, during the aforementioned period. It should be noted that a part of the car dealers (57), whose contracts have ended, have become service centres.

SsangYong (-44), UAZ (-19) and Lada (-16) are amongst the brands, whose dealer networks have shrunk. Lifan and Ford have lost 7 dealers. The following brands are amongst the few, which expanded their networks within the first quarter: FAW (+14), Derways/Hower (+9) and Foton (+7). Ravon and Zotye have added 6 dealer centres to their networks.
