Renault Russia has exported the 30.000th Russian production body to Algeria

RusAutoNews.Com – Renault Russia has exported the landmark 30,000th welded and painted Russian production Renault Logan body to the Renault plant in Algeria (where the automobile is sold under the name of Symbol), as reported by the company press office.

“We successfully continue with the largest export project in the Russian car industry. We have exported more than 20,000 bodies in 2017, significantly exceeding the preliminary plans and the total number of exports has reached 30,000 units since the beginning of the project, following the first four months of 2018. This is the best evidence of the fact that the Russian production meets the highest world standards and is demanded in foreign markets. Renault Russia will continue to strengthen its leadership in the field of development of local production and non-resource exports” – as commented by the general director of Renault Russia: Andrei Pankov.

The export project of welded and painted bodies for Renault Logan automobiles in Algeria has started in December 2016. The bodies are manufactured at AVTOVAZ plant in Tolyatti, in compliance with the global standards of Renault. The deliveries to the Renault plant in Algeria run through two stages: on container trains through Russian territory to the port of Novorossiysk, to be completed by sea to the port of Arzev (Algeria). Approximately 1000 bodies were exported in 2016. The capacity of the production line in Tolyatti site has been doubled since 18 September 2017, to 120 bodies per day. The exports have exceeded 20,000 units in 2017 thanks to the expansion, which is well over the preliminary plans, initially estimated at more than 14,000 bodies.

185 different types of components are currently being exported from Russia (over 160 in 2016), in particular, stamping parts, plastic parts, brake system and running gear elements and lighting devices. Eurasia (61%), Latin America (25%), Europe (6%) are amongst the main export markets, alongside Africa, Middle-East and India. The export turnover of Russian components within Renault Group has exceeded €75 million in 2017, which indicates a 3.3 times year-on-year rise.

Renault Russia, which is one of the largest car manufacturers in the country, was established in 1998. The company is also amongst the biggest investors in the Russian automotive industry. Today, the company’s assets in Russia include two production sites: a plant in Moscow and a joint production line at Tolyatti with partners from the Alliance.
