New electric cars sales up by 80% within the first six months of 2018

 

Autostat. – 52 new electric cars have been sold in Russia within the first six months of 2018, indicating a 79.3% year-on-year increase.

Nissan Leaf is the leader of the electric car market with 24 units sold. The leader is followed by the crossover Tesla X with 20 units and the sedan Tesla S with 6 units. The new Tesla Model 3 and Renault Twizzy found only one buyer each in Russia within the first half of 2018.

With 52% market share in total, Tesla remained the leading brand of the new electric car market in Russia.

As noted by Autostat, 19 new electric cars have been sold in Moscow and the surrounding region. The capital is followed by Primorsky Krai with 9 units and St Petersburg with 5 cars. In 15 other regions of Russia have been sold one electric car each.
