The 700,000th Ford Focus has been manufactured in Russia

RusAutoNewsCom. – Ford Sollers has announced that the 700,000th Ford Focus has rolled off the production line at the Vsevolozhsk plant of the company.

The factory in Vsevolozhsk commenced operations in 2002 and Focus became the first automobile manufactured by the foreign brand in Russia. The model is being manufactured in full-cycle technology. Three generations of Focus have been produced within the 16-years production history of the model. Currently, the factory manufactures the modernised third generation model in all three body types: sedan, hatchback and estate.

One of the most popular C-segment automobiles in the world: Ford Focus is being manufactured in Russia since 2002. The model has become the “automobile of the year” in Europe in 1999, only a year after its launch in 1998. The reliable, practical and affordable model has quickly become a bestseller in Russia with the brand control of Focus. The model also symbolised the economic growth of the country in its heydays. Ford Focus remained as the undisputed leader of the C-segment for 9 years in Russia and became the best-sold foreign model in the country between 2003-2010.
