Nissan has increased the exports of Russian production cars by 50% in 2018


 

Autostat.- Nissan has supplied the Belarusian and Kazakh markets with 5747 Russian production cars in 2018, which is equivalent to a 50% year-on-year growth. The relevant statement has been made by the press office of Nissan, which added that components have also been exported to the Central European Warehouse, along with automobiles.

The St. Petersburg plant of Nissan has exported more than 17,000 Nissan X-Trail bumpers last year, which were manufactured at the plastic components molding workshop. In addition, the enterprise has also exported noise insulation (noise absorbing mats): 930,000 units with a total weight of 450 tonnes.

As one may remember, Nissan St Petersburg factory has manufactured 56,525 automobiles in 2018 (+23.3%), which is a historical record for the company. The main models manufactured in the plant were: Nissan Qashqai crossover (26,407 units), Nissan X-Trail (26,598 units) and Nissan Murano (3520 units). It should be noted that the production of the updated Nissan X-Trail SUVs has been launched in St Petersburg last October. The plant has also launched the production of the updated Nissan Qashqai crossovers in February 2019. The model will be put on the market this spring.

Nissan Manufacturing Rus has become a participant of the Special Investment Contract signed between Avtovaz and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce in January 2019. The development of the model ranges of Nissan and Datsun will be supported by the SPIC in Russia, as well as the other brands of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance and the modernisation of production capacities. Avtovaz will invest 70 billion rubles within the framework of the 10-year contract and Nissan will expand the localisation of materials, parts and components, introduce new technologies, develop research activities in Russia and increase exports in cooperation with its partners in the alliance.
