New electric cars sales have increased by 52% in 2018 in Russia


 

RusAutoNewsCom.- According to Autostat data, 144 new electric cars have been sold in Russia in 2018, indicating a 51.6% year-on-year increase (up from 95 units).

Nissan Leaf has become the leader of the market with 76 units sold. The leader is followed by Tesla, which is represented by two models: Tesla X, with 40 units sold, and Tesla S with 12 units.

In addition, 8 new electric crossover Jaguar I-Pace, 7 new Renault Twizy and 1 Tesla Model 3 were purchased in Russia in 2018.

As previously reported, the Jaguar I-Pace sales in Russia has begun in December 2018.

As noted by Autostat, 58 new electric cars have been sold in Moscow and the surrounding region in 2018. The capital is followed by Primorsky Krai – 24 units, St Petersburg – 10 units, Krasnodar – 5 units, Khabarovsk and Novosibirsk – 4 units each.
