Russian Haval car factory will start serial production

Autostat.- The new Haval car factory will open at Uzlovaya Industrial Park in Tula on 5 July 2019. The new Haval F7 crossover will become the first Russian production model and the potential bestseller of the brand. The full frame H9 SUV will also roll off the conveyors of the facility in future, alongside the new Haval F7x coupe-crossover.

As one may remember, the construction of the plant started on an area of 2.16 million m2 (216 hectares) in Autumn 2015. The total amount of investment in the project is approximately $500 million, as stated by the press office of Havel Motor Rus. The annual production capacity of the facility will be 80,000 automobiles at the first stage. The maximum capacity of 150,000 vehicles per year is planned to be reached at the following stage. The facility is formed of stamping, welding, painting and assembly shops, as well as a component production shop. The Haval car factory will become the first full-cycle plant of the Chinese brand abroad.

In the meantime, the distribution of the Russian production F7 crossovers to Russian dealers has also started. The new model will be available in three versions: Comfort, Elite and Premium. The engine range of F7 includes: 1.5 litres (150 hp, 5500 rpm) and 2.0 litres (190 hp, 5500 rpm) GDIT turbocharged engines. Both engines are paired with a 7-speed 7DCT dual-clutch transmission with oil cooling. The new F7 has front and full-wheel drive versions.

Russian dealers of Haval have sold 2055 vehicles within the first four months of 2019, which is equivalent to a 2.9 times year-on-year growth. Haval is represented with H2, H6 and H9 Russian models at the moment. H6 medium-size crossover is the most popular Haval model in Russia currently.
