Great Wall Motor will manufacture engines in Russia


 

RusAutoNewsCom.- A letter of intent has been signed between the Russian Ministry of Industry and Commerce Denis Manturov, the Governor of Tula Region Alexei Dyumin and the Chairman of the Board of Great Wall Motor Wei Jianjun at the 23rd St Petersburg Economic Forum.

Great Wall Motor Company will take on the second phase of the investment project with the construction of a car plant in Uzlovaya Industrial Park in Tula region. A second stamping line and an engine production plant will be built within the scope of the project. The company plans to make an investment of 27 billion rubles and increase the annual production capacity of the factory to 150,000 vehicles, within the framework of the project. Up to 1500 new jobs will be created.

“Yesterday we attended the ceremony of the remote launch of production of the automobile plant with the participation of the top officials of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. We will have signed a new investment agreement with the government of the Tula region and the car company on further expansion of production, by the end of today. We are ready to provide the company with all necessary support for the implementation of the project” – said the Governor of Tula Region Alexei Dyumin.
