Mazda Sollers will boost engine production by 6 times in Russia in 2020

TASS.- Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus automobile plant in Vladivostok, which manufactured the first batch of SkyActiv-G engines for the Japanese market in August, plans to increase production by 6 times in 2020. The relevant statement has been made to TASS by the general director of the company: Dmitry Kudinov, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.

“3700 engines are planned to be delivered to Japan by the end of this year. We will have a sixfold increase in production volumes next year, reaching 20,000 engines, all aimed for exports. According to our programme, we will operate within the framework of 20,000 engines for the time being, ready to increase the volume at the first opportunity” – he said.

Kudinov has noted that as a possible strategy, the company considers entering new export markets, besides Japan. “Everything will depend on the effectivity of the sales in the new market in terms of logistics, plus the tariff protection levels that are currently in force in those markets, where we have neither imported from or exported to yet” – he emphasised.
