The JV of KAMAZ and Daimler has suspended the production of Fuso Canter

RusAutoNewsCom.- The joint venture of Kamaz and Daimler: DK Rus has suspended the production of the medium-tonnage Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks. The production of Canter trucks is carried out in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Overstocking has been shown as the reason behind the suspension of the conveyor. As written in Vedomosti, the Fuso dealers have not yet sold out the 2018 production Canter trucks and the galleries are packed with vehicles assembled in the first half of 2019.

The warehouses are currently accumulated with 1200-1300 unsold vehicles. The production of Canter will resume in Naberezhnye Chelny in 2020.

The production of the medium-tonnage Fuso trucks was being carried out by DK Rus. The vehicles were assembled with kits imported from Japan in SKD method. The assembly has been suspended since May 2019, however, the public announcement has been made very recently. The workers employed in Fuso line have been transferred to other divisions of DK Rus, including the Mercedes-Benz conveyor.
