Autostat.- Azerbaijan plans to launch the supplies of Khazar SD automobiles to Russia, which are being assembled by an Azerbaijani-Iranian joint venture at Neftechalinskaya Industrial Zone. The relevant statement has been made by the ambassador of Azerbaijan to Iran Bunyad Huseynov during a meeting with the members of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, as written in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, citing Trend.

Preparations are being made to deliver the first lot of automobiles, formed of 10 vehicles, to the Russian market in the near future. In the meantime, as written by the publication, the Vehicle Type Approval document, which is compulsory for the sales of automobiles, has not been received yet.

As one may remember, the Azeri-Iranian Khazar SD automobiles were introduced to the Russian market during the Moscow Car Show in autumn 2018, where the manufacturer presented its SKD-assembly product with white K and H letters fitted on the radiator grill of the vehicle, which complies with the Euro-5 international safety standards. At the time, it was announced that the exports of the automobiles to Russia were within the plans of the joint venture, once the domestic demand is met. The export volume of the vehicles to Russia, the Middle East and Afrika is estimated as 2000 units per year.
