Factories will suspend production in accordance with a presidential decree


RusAutoNewsCom.- Factories will suspend production between 30 March – 2 April 2020, based on a decree by the President of Russian Federation: Vladimir Putin on the Announcement of Non-Working Days in Russian Federation, dated 25 March 2020. The decree aims to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the country’s population.

Kamaz will suspend car production between 30 March – 2 April, based on the decree. The entire staff of the company will go on a paid long weekend with the exception of a small number of employees, whose work can not be suspended due to requirements of production technicalities.

Avtovaz staff will also be off during the aforementioned period, apart from employees engaged in uninterrupted production processes, counter-terrorism and industrial/transport security. In the meantime, the salaries of the workers will be secured for the duration of the period.

In addition, the access of workers to the enterprise will be prohibited in the coming week. The employees will be advised to stay at home as long possible and observe the maximum precautions within the framework of the recommendations issued by the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, along with regional and federal authorities.

Toyota factory in St Petersburg, UAZ plant in Ulyanovsk, ZMZ engine plant in Zavolzhye, Ford Sollers in Elabuga and Mazda Sollers in Vladivostok will also suspend production between 28 March – 5 April, in accordance with the presidential decree, as well as the complicated circumstances caused by the pandemic.

St Petersburg plants of Nissan and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus will also suspend car production in accordance with the decree by the president of Russian Federation in connection with the spread of the Coronavirus, between 30 March – 3 April.
