10 enterprises form Russian automotive industry have been defined as strategically important


 

Autostat.- A list of strategically important Russian automotive companies, which are eligible for state support in times of need, has been approved by the government at the end of March, under the conditions of collapsing oil prices. The 2008 list has been taken as the basis, as reported by Interfax. More than 300 enterprises were included in the former list, which was formed during the times of crisis in the Russian economy.

Today, amid expectations of a global crisis and due to the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the government has decided to revise and extend the list. Financial support is not planned to be included in the document as yet, however, the companies in the list will be closely monitored. Accordingly, a relevant decree has been signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation: Mihail Mishustin today.

The 2008 list has almost been doubled currently, including 646 enterprises from chemical and metallurgical industries, which are engaged in mining and passenger, air and other types of transportation. The following ten Russian automotive companies, manufacturing transport vehicles have been included in the list: Avtovaz, Ural Automobile Plant, SDS-Mash, Renault Russia, Volkswagen Group Rus, YaMZ, GAZ, Kamaz, Nefaz and Sollers.
