CHANGAN has set up car assembly in Belarus


 

RusAutoNewsCom.- As reported previously in August 2019, one of the largest Chinese automobile concerns Changan has stopped the production of CS35 crossovers in Russia.

The production of the model has started at the Unison factory in Belarus. Russia will be amongst the markets the manufactured automobiles will be supplied to. CS35 Plus compact crossover has become the first model to roll off the conveyor of the enterprise, as stated by the press office of the Chinese brand.

According to the representative of the Unison, there are plans to expand the range of the vehicles in the future. Moreover, the factory plans to launch the production of electric cars, alongside petrol engine vehicles.

As reported by Autostat, Russian dealers have sold 231 Changan automobiles in May, which is equivalent to a 2.2% year-on-year increase. The compact crossover CS35 Plus has become the leader of the Russian market in terms of sales. The four-wheel-drive CS75SL came second, shortly after the launch of the mass sales of the model in April 2020. The sales figure of brand has multiplied by 3.8 times by the end of the first five months of 2020, with 1699 units.
