The production of KIA K5 sedans has been launched in Russia


 

RNS.- The South Korean manufacturer has started the assembly of the new KIA K5 sedans, which will replace KIA Optima, at Kaliningrad Avtotor plant, as reported by the press office of the company.

“The serial production of the K5 business class sedan has started at Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad. The model is manufactured with SKD-4 method” – as stated in the report.

The sales of the model will start in Russia in autumn 2020.

The new model has been launched within the framework of the strategy change planned by the brand.

“K5 is 20 mm shorter than Optima, but similar in width. The overall length of the new model exceeds its predecessor by 50 mm, on the other hand. The interior architecture is driver oriented to a maximum extent” – as stated by the manufacturer.

KIA K5 will be available with two petrol engines and automatic transmissions, with a front axle drive in Russia.
