The 450th Kamaz electric bus has joint the routes of Moscow


RusAutoNewsCom.- As announced by Kamaz press office, the landmark 450th electric bus has been handed over to the state enterprise Mosgortrans in Moscow. The vehicle has been manufactured by Nefaz, a subsidiary of Kamaz in Bashkiria.

The vehicle, decorated in jubilee symbols, has been presented to the general director of the state enterprise Mosgortrans Leonid Antonov with a ceremony.

“Within two years of cooperation with Moscow, we have assembled and supplied the capital city with 334 Kamaz electric buses. In the meantime, we have improved a number of features of the bus in cooperation with experts from Mosgortrans since 2019, in order to satisfy the highest demands of the passengers. We are glad to be involved in the solution process of the transport development in the capital, to contribute to the improvement of the ecological situation and to be appreciated by the Muscovites as a result” – said the Kamaz chief designer for passenger transport Eduard Danilov during the meeting.

The city of Moscow plans to enlarge the electric bus fleet to 2,650 units until the end of 2023, which will be equivalent to a third of the overground transport fleet of the capital. Mosgortrans will receive 600 electric buses annually as of 2021, including Kamaz buses. The renewal of the transport fleet will be carried out within the framework of the new development programme for the capital city.

As one may remember, the production of electric buses have been carried out at Nefaz on special orders from Mosgortrans since 2018. Kamaz had signed another, already the third contract for the electric bus supply of another 200 units to the Moscow passenger transporter in January 2020. A large part of the order has already been shipped, the rest to be concluded until the end of autumn 2020.
