The production of new turbo diesel engines has been launched by PSMA Rus

Avtonovostidnya.- As reported by Wroom, the mass production of French 1.6-litre DV6 EL turbo diesel engines has been launched at the PSMA Rus factory in Kaluga. The engine, which was previously being used in the equipment of Peugeot, Citroen, Ford and Suzuki cars, is now being installed in the compact LCVs assembled in Kaluga, including Peugeot Partner and Citroen Berlingo vans.

The enterprise in Kaluga has fulfilled another requirement of the SPIC signed with the government by organising the production of the engine and improved the localisation rate of the vehicles manufactured at its premises.

As one may remember, the engines were previously being transported to Kaluga directly from the PSA plant in Tremery. All the imported diesel engines had the same 1.6-litre volume and 95 hp.

The production of another compact LCV: the second generation Citroen Berlingo will start at PSMA Rus in March. The standard (4380mm) and the enhanced body length (4628mm) versions will roll off the conveyor. The prices and the specifications will be announced later.
