The production of the new Isuzu Elf 8.0 chassis has started in Russia

RusAutoNewsCom.- The production of the new low-tonnage Isuzu Elf 8.0 chassis has commenced at Isuzu Rus plant in Ulyanovsk. The newcomer to the Russian market has an increased payload of 500 kg compared to its predecessor.

As reported by the company press office, the Elf 8.0 power line is almost identical to the Elf 9.5 model: frame, front axle and rear axle with maximum loads of 3.1 tonnes and 5.9 – 6.4 tonnes, respectively. The power unit of the model is the same, on the other hand, a 4HK1 engine (155 hp, 419 Nm) in combination with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The new Isuzu Elf 8.0 chassis will be available in three modifications: standard, all-wheel-drive and the gas engine version.

The standard version is a multi-purpose full-size chassis with a payload of up to 5200 kg. A number of modifications have been applied on the 4×4 chassis in the all-wheel-drive version, improving the geometric cross-country ability of the car: increased ground clearance, the absence of a front underrun protection and improved geometric cross-country ability.

The gas engine version of Isuzu Elf 8.0 runs on compressed natural gas (methane). The model is equipped with two gas cylinders with a total geometric volume of 300 litres or 65 – 75 cubic metres of CNG. The automobile has a travel range of approximately 350 km, once fully charged.

In addition, optional wide-angle door mirrors are now available on the Elf 8.0 and Elf 8.0 CNG models.
