AVTOVAZ has resumed Lada production in Kazakhstan

TASS.- Avtovaz has resumed the local production of Lada vehicles in Kazakhstan. The relevant agreement has been signed between the Russian manufacturer and the Allur Group, according to the company statement.

“We have managed to prepare and sign an agreement in a limited time-scale and manufactured the first model – the Niva Travel SUV. The production of other Lada models will begin at the Kostanay plant within the upcoming months” – as told by the chairman of Avtovaz Yves Karakatzanis.

According to the new agreement, Lada vehicles will be manufactured at the SaryarkaAvtoProm factory in Kostanay. The production volume will be aimed at fulfilling the domestic demand.

Lada production resumed in Kazakhstan last November. The models of the Russian brand were previously being manufactured at Asia Auto factory, however, as reported previously, the local authorities have terminated the Industrial Assembly Agreement with the enterprise and imposed a penalty of 30.8 billion rubles.
