Renault Group predicts problems in Russian car plants due to the Ukrainian crisis


 

AvtoNovostiDnya.- The escalation of the situation in Ukraine may lead to disruptions in the supply of components for automobile production in Moscow and Togliatti. The relevant statement has been made by the chairman of Renault Group: Luca de Meo during an interview with Financial Times.

De Meo has drawn attention to the risk factor concerning the interruption in the supply chain of components for Russian automobile plants in the background of the Ukrainian crisis. As told by the chairman, Renault is currently conducting a search for additional component suppliers for its production sites.

According to Financial Times, approximately 20% of the parts used by Avtovaz are manufactured abroad. In the meantime, the share of imported components is nearly 40% at the Moscow factory of Renault.

Renault Logan sedan and Renault Sandero hatchback models are manufactured at the main plant of Avtovaz in Togliatti, as well as their all-terrain versions with the Stepway prefix . On the other hand, the production of all of the crossover models of the brand is carried out in Moscow: Kaptur, Duster and Arkana.
