EVM PRO electric truck has been presented in Russia


 

TASS.- St Petersburg company Electromobiles Manufacturing Rus has presented the completely Russian-made electric truck EVM PRO in Moscow, as reported by a TASS correspondent from the scene. A test drive has also been conducted on the truck during the presentation.

As announced in January, the manufacturer has already completed the project development of the factory for the assembly and the production of EVM PRO. The plant with an annual capacity of 1000 units is planned to be established in Moscow.

Electromobiles Manufacturing Rus and Motorinvest companies had previously submitted applications to enter the tender for the conclusion of a Special Investment Contract (SPIC) for electric vehicles. As reported on Monday the 21st of February, an interdepartmental commission recognised both applications as winners of the competitive selection for the right to conclude the SPIC. As stated earlier, the results of the competition will be announced on the 5th of March.

EVM PRO has been created in cooperation with UAZ, on the basis of the chassis of UAZ Profi. The 3.5 tonnes electric vehicle has a travel range of 300 km once fully charged and an allowable payload of 1 ton. The manufacturer has stated that the vehicle is equipped with the lightest engine in the world, which weighs only 50kg. The key features of the electric truck include a Russian power plant, domestic design on-board electronics and software, as well as autonomous heating for the driver’s cab and an electric air conditioner for the summer season. Battery heating is provided for power maintenance at below-zero conditions. The truck has also been designed for urban usage.
