The Russian citizens have been warned about a shortage of car spare parts

Rambler.- Russian car owners may face a shortage of spare parts and processed materials from the next 6 to 8 weeks onwards, unless the supply situation recovers. The forecast was given to RIA Novosti by the general director of the Avtodom Altufievo dealer.

“If the supplies of spare parts do not resume within the aforementioned period of time, the market will face a shortage of consumables for maintenance and a lack of parts for body repairs” – the general director said.

The deputy CEO of Avilon, on the other hand, has drawn attention to the uncertainty regarding the timing of the delivery of spare parts, however, added that the delays are minimal at present. Moreover, there’s no information about a shrinkage in parts supplies from the importers as yet.

The dealers, who took part in a survey, have also stated that the technical services are currently being carried out at a full volume, including for brands that announced withdrawal from Russia.

A number of car manufacturers and dealers had previously announced intentions to leave the Russian market, including Volkswagen, Skoda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Ford. They all pronounced the situation in Ukraine and logistical problems as reasons behind the decision.
