Interfax.- Yokohama Rubber Co has announced a gradual stop of tyre production at its Russian plant.

Given the current situation and difficulties in purchasing raw materials, Yokohama Rubber has decided to gradually stop production at its Russian passenger tyre plant, Yokohama RPZ LLC,” the Japanese company’s website says.

The head of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, wrote on his Telegram channel that various departments are ready to help the company adapt to new logistics conditions.

We are ready to provide assistance through the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Transport in order to speed up the process of delivering materials,” the head of the region said.

He also said that the company intends to keep the staff at the Lipetsk enterprise. “The management assured that the company is interested in all employees continuing to work at the plant,” Artamonov said.

Yokohama RPZ LLC was founded in 2008 in the Gryazinsky district of the Lipetsk region and was the first enterprise to manufacture Yokohama car tires in Russia. Investments amounted to 26.7 billion rubles.
