Russian car market has decreased by 63% in March 2022

RusAutoNews.- As announced by the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, the Russian car market has decreased by 62.9%, or 93,547 units year-on-year in March 2022, to 55,129 vehicles.

Within the first quarter of this year 277,332 cars were sold in total, 28.4% less than last year’s figure.

Second month in a row, the Chairman of the Committee did not comment on the market situation or expectations.

Lada is the most popular brand of the car market in March with 12,289 units sold. The sales of the brand has dropped 64% year-on-year in March. Second and third spots are occupied by the Korean brands Kia with 6,336 units and Hyundai with 4,909 units, both 68% less than last year’s figure. Lada Granta was the most popular model in March with 3,433 units sold.

Top 10 best-selling car models in March 2021:

1-Lada Granta. 2-Lada Vesta. 3-Kia Rio. 4-Lada Niva. 5-Hyundai Solaris. 6-Volkswagen Polo. 7-Hyundai Creta. 8-Lada Largus. 9-Skoda Rapid. 10-Renault Duster.

All 10 models are manufactured in Russia.
