AVTOVAZ returned to a full working week

Motor ru.- Avtovaz was given back a five-day working week – it started on August 15. Previously, the plant had a four-day work schedule beginning June 6 and scheduled to last through November 2022, but was cancelled ahead of schedule. However, the “five-day period” will not last long: on August 29, the management will introduce a six-day schedule with a flexible rest day in the middle of the week.

Avtovaz also left out the opportunity for overtime in October and November 2022. From October 3 to November 27, the night shift will begin with a two-hour delay to allow day workers to do additional double-paid work.

At the end of June, Avtovaz did not intend to return to the “five-day period” at least until November. Then it was reported that short-time work had to be introduced “due to changed organizational working conditions and to secure jobs”. Also, the reason was the lack of components, which worsened with the introduction of sanctions.

However, it has been reported that the car maker has managed to establish new supply chains. At the same time, equipment was gradually returned to cars in “simplified” versions: in August, assembly of Granta and Niva Legend with ERA-GLONASS units began, and by the end of the month it is promised to return the airbag. However, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the exchange rate stability system (ESP) are not expected to return until 2023 at the earliest.

Avtovaz plans to increase the production rate of Lada Granta and Niva (Legend and Travel) to 50 and 38 units per hour, respectively. A larger goal is to increase the capacity of the Togliatti site to half a million vehicles per year, which is to be made possible by moving Lada Vesta production from Izhevsk.
