Russian car market has increased by 2% in March 2019

RusAutoNewsCom. – As announced by the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee, Russian car market has increased by 1.8%, or by 2901 units year-on-year in March 2019, and amounted to 160,180 vehicles.

Within the first quarter of this year 391,650 cars were sold in total, indicating a 0.3% year-on-year decline.

Joerg Schreiber, Chairman of the committee commented: “The small plus in March sales, following a similarly small minus in February suggests the market is still looking for a firm direction this year. Cumulative sales in the first quarter are almost at prior year level, achieved through a much bigger effort by market participants as consumer demand is still lagging behind the momentum we saw one year ago. Government subsidies for lowerpriced vehicles effective from March obviously also helped to improve the total market picture this month. “

Lada was the most populer brand of the Russian car market in March 2019 with 33,821 units sold. Lada Vesta was the most populer car model with 12,850 units sold in March.
