Volkswagen car factories in Russia will remain closed until summer

RusAutoNews.- Volkswagen Group Rus plants in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod can resume work no earlier than June-July 2022, as stated in Vedomosti. Production was stopped on March 3 due to the conflict in Ukraine and the ensuing problems with the supply chain.

As reported, the carmaker has officially announced the idle time until May 12, but it may last until July. Since the delivery of components via Ukrainian territory is now impossible and Poland does not allow transit, consideration is now being given to delivering the components to Russia via Turkey and Georgia.
