ROSTEC will build a new engine for KAMAZ

RusAutoNews.- A new six-cylinder engine with an output of 400 to 500 hp for Russian truck manufacturers will be built in Russia, said Sergey Chemezov, head of the state corporation Rostec, as reported by Gazeta ru.

Engines are in demand not only from Kamaz, but also from other Russian truck makers and manufacturers of agricultural machinery,” said Chemezov.

Kamaz plans to assemble the K5 generation trucks only using Russian made components by 2023, although initially the new model was developed and manufactured jointly with foreign partners.

On the other hand, Rostec has started negotiations to buy Daimler’s 15 percent stake in Kamaz, Chemezov confirmed.
