NISSAN will not resume operations in Russia in the 2022 fiscal year


 

RusAutoNews.- Nissan’s suspended operations in Russia may not resume throughout fiscal 2022, the company’s CEO Makoto Uchida said, as reported by Finmarket.

We have suspended Russian operations due to issues in logistics and supply chains.
We will continue to monitor the situation. We assume that the operations will
be suspended for a year,
” Uchida said at a news conference. He also noted that the priority for the company is the safety of the employees and their families in Russia and Ukraine.

The Nissan plant in St Petersburg suspended the car production due to logistical interruptions in mid-March. Prior to this, the company also suspended the supply of cars to Russia.

The company produces the X-Trail, Murano, Qashqai and Terrano models at the plant, which has a capacity of 100,000 vehicles per year.
