Volkswagen has offered payoffs for employees in Nizhny Novgorod


 

Kommersant.- Volkswagen has offered its employees in Nizhny Novgorod to voluntarily resign with a severance payment of six salaries, Kommersant learned from one of the unions at the plant. Employees who terminated the contract before June 17 were promised payment of six salaries, before June 29 – five. A total of around 200 employees work at the production site in Nizhny Novgorod.

VW Group Rus confirmed this information. The company has offered a package to employees in Nizhny Novgorod who wish to leave the company, which includes financial compensation and medical insurance until the end of 2022, as well as personal IT equipment if necessary.

The assembly of Skoda and VW models at the GAZ Group plant was suspended on March 3. On May 25, US sanctions were imposed on the Gorky Automobile Plant, questioning the possibility of future assembly.
