Continental has resumed tire production in Russia


 

Autostat.- Continental’s Kaluga tire plant resumed production today after a closure in July 2022 and continues to supply tires to Russian customers. This was reported to Autostat by the press service of the plant.

The plant was opened in October 2013, investments in the project amounted to 240 million euros. The production capacity is 4 million tires per year with prospects of expanding to 16 million. The factory currently employs more than 1000 people.

The company produces winter and summer tires for passenger cars and light trucks under three company brands: Continental, Gislaved and Matador. The tires manufactured in Kaluga are supplied to the primary and secondary markets.

In 2015, the plant began export to Europe, Asia and North America.
