UAZ will start pilot tests on vehicles with connected car technology

RusAutoNewsCom.- As announced by the company press office, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant UAZ will start pilot tests on vehicles with connected car technology. The technology brings built-in telematics functions, online services and a mobile application for clients, which enables the management of new functionalities and reception of information from various vehicle systems.

Patriot has become the first UAZ model with the connectivity function, which took part in the final part of the resource run in Russia between 29 July – 14 August 2019. The testing of the connectivity platform and its functionality has been carried out in parallel with the final stage of the tests on the automatic transmission Patriot SUV.

The new IT-solutions have been fully integrated with the internal systems of UAZ. The owner of the automobile will be able to start and stop the engine remotely, obtain data on the technical condition of the car, the location of the vehicle, fuel level in the tank and the driving style in real time, using a proprietary mobile application.

The telematics data is delivered to the Squadron cloud platform, which provides operational processing and interaction with the received information. Various service and content providers, marketplaces and fleet management systems are easily integrated with the platform, as well as data storage systems. The collection and exchange of data from the “connected car” is provided by the ERA-GLONASS telecommunication module, which is integrated into the vehicle’s CAN bus.

The serial production of the UAZ automobiles with connectivity function is planned to start during the last quarter of 2019.
