Mitsubishi Fuso has stopped truck production in Russia

TASS - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp (MFTBC) has stopped truck production in Russia, due to falling demand and the depreciation of the rouble. The company press office has denied the possibility of complete closure of the facility and staff layoffs via an announcement made to TASS news agency. The company intends to evaluate the market situation for a while.

Mitsubishi Fuso had been manufacturing Canter light trucks with Daimler and KAMAZ in Naberezhnye Chelny, since 2009. Only 900 vehicles were manufactured in the facility in 2014, where the annual production number had been 1700 between 2011-2013.
