St. Petersburg automotive industry has grown by 47% during the first quarter

RusAutoNews.Com – According to Auto-Dealer-SPb data, Hyundai, Nissan and Toyota factories, established in St. Petersburg, have manufactured 82,100 automobiles during the first quarter of 2017, which is equivalent to a 47% year-on-year rise.

Car production amounted to 31,700 units in March 2017, indicating a 44% increase in comparison with the same period of the previous year. It should be noted that March performance is the best monthly production figure for the last three years. April 2014 was the last month, superior to March 2017.

66% of car production in St. Petersburg belongs to Hyundai, as of the end of the first quarter of the year. The shares of Toyota and Nissan are 20% and 14% respectively.

The share of St. Petersburg in Russian car production has reached 26.7% during the aforementioned period (up from last year’s 22.4%)
