AVTOVAZ has proposed measures for the maintenance of price ratios on methane and petrol

RNS – AVTOVAZ, the manufacturer of Lada hybrid cars, has proposed measures to increase demand for vehicles operating with petrol and compressed natural gas (methane, CNG), according to the presentation of the car manufacturer.

Subsidies on the purchase of automobiles running on CNG are necessary according to the company, alongside a preferential loan programme, the preservation of an attractive price ratio for methane against petrol, expansion of gas filling stations and gas cylinder re-examination points.

Lada dealers currently sell Lada Vesta CNG automobiles.  Vesta CNG prices start from 765,000 rubles, without the special programme.

As stated previously, the subsidies for the manufacturers of gas-engine vehicles will amount to 2.5 billion rubles in 2018. Currently, the average price of compressed natural gas is 16 rubles and AI-95 petrol is 41 rubles per litre, according to Rosstat data.
