The government agrees to set eligibility measures for car manufacturers to have access to state support

TASS. – The state support for Russian automotive industry may be aimed at car manufacturers, who already meet the conditions of the so-called second industrial assembly regime (IAR) in a new investment cycle, as told by a representative of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to TASS. According to the representative, the ministry has supported the proposal of such car manufacturers, as to the establishment of the aforementioned eligibility requirements.

“With regards to the investment regime, which will replace the current industrial assembly regime, the ministry supports the consolidated positions of the car manufacturers on the need to establish entry requirements for qualification, at a level of not below the requirements of the Industrial Assembly 2.0 Regime” – said the representative.

The majority of the second IAR agreements will expire before the end of 2018 / beginning of 2019.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce proposes the use of SPIC as a main tool in the implementation of the new investment regime in automotive industry, as legitimate instruments from the point of WTO standards, in setting the obligations of car manufacturers and/or alliances, aimed at the further increase in localisation rates of the products and competencies, as well as the additional utilisation of car manufacturing plants with highly localised products.
